On Monday we had an unforgettable performance at our school. Using storytelling, music, interactive videos, magical illusions and audience participation, the students went on a journey to Africa.
The NED Show partnered with Bidii Primary school in Nairobi, Kenya and took us on a journey to see how they live on the other side of the world. NED taught us that although he experienced some fear and reluctance at first because of the differences, he quickly learnt that everyone has something in common with the kids in Kenya and that can break down barriers… a kind heart and a caring attitude.
NED’s Kindness Adventure assembly supports what we do here at SJF by helping us develop a positive and caring school climate. Through the lessons taught by NED we encourage a proactive approach to aim to prevent many forms of mistreatment, including bullying, by showcasing the sense of satisfaction that takes place when a child chooses to show kindness, respect and acceptance.
As part of the NED show, your child can purchase handcrafted original treasures from Kenya. Items are on sale every afternoon after school in the hall. Don’t forget Ned’s message:
Caring is cool
- Include others
- I can make friends anywhere
- Each person matters a lot
- Different can be good
