St John Fisher Catholic School is located on a 2.5 hectare property with fourteen classrooms, an Administration Block, Learning & Resource Centre, Hall, COLA and a Mass Centre.
Chapel
St John Fisher Primary has a Chapel on site which is used by the parish and school community. The Chapel is utilized for weekly and weekend mass. During the Religious Education modules teachers also utilise the Chapel for liturgies and reflection.
Classrooms
At our school we have 14 purpose built classrooms. All classrooms have an Interactive Whiteboard and networked PC’s. All classrooms provide wireless access for our roaming laptops. All are carpeted, air conditioned with ceiling fans and wet areas.
Learning and Resource Centre (LARC)
The LARC is an integral part of the school and is accessed by the students at least once per week in their weekly library lesson. During this lesson students are provided the opportunity to borrow books but also to develop their research skills using technology. The LARC is well resourced and has an Interactive Whiteboard, Desktops and Laptops which cater for 1 to 1 computing. Children are provided the opportunity during lunch times to freely interact with the resources both on the shelf and online.
Playground, Oval
Currently the school has two large grassed playgrounds for the children to play. One is at the top of the property with an adjacent covered seating area and a large treed area.
There is another oval to the side of the hall which is used mainly by the children in Stage 1.
There is a large bitumen quadrangle with handball courts which is completely covered by a sun shelter.
School Hall and COLA (Covered Outdoor Learning Area)
The school multipurpose hall meets many functions for the education of the children and the building of community. The hall seats 400 and has an adjacent covered multipurpose court.
The hall is designed for sport and is set up for basketball, netball and volleyball. There is a stage and sophisticated sound and visual system to support the use of the hall for performance. There is also a kitchen which opens on to the hall and to the COLA on the outside to support community events.
