Our Year 6 students visited Government House today for their last day in Canberra and were lucky enough to meet His Excellency the Honourable Governor General David Hurley whilst they were there! His Excellency kindly spent some time talking with our students before answering their questions.
Year 6 also had the Coast’s very own Emma McBride MP, the Federal Member for Dobell (our electorate), visit them during hospitality at Parliament House. She spent a good half hour talking about her role, answering questions and playing multiple games of ‘scissors, paper, rock.’ We were most appreciative of the time she gave up to spend with us. The children had such an unbelievable time having also been able to witness a full parliament sitting during question time yesterday.
What a special encounter for them all, the experience may have just inspired some future leaders of our country!
