Mother’s Day
Thank you to Louise Miller and the parent helpers for the organisation of the Mother’s Day Stall yesterday. Louise has been running the Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls for many years and this will be the last one as Emily is moving on to High School, and we thank her for her contribution on all those years.
We look forward to our drive-through surprise from our social committee on the morning of Friday 7th April. Thank you for your initiative and creativity.
Mother’s Day Celebrations
I include as a reminder that next Monday 10th May we will organise an informal gathering in the hall with a focus on celebrating Mother’s Day which will give parents an opportunity to catch up with each other as well as give each grade an opportunity to share a short presentation to the parents. To keep numbers appropriate we ask that just one person from each family attends.
To be able to ensure it fits with COVID Safety guidelines we will do this in two sessions which will reduce the overall numbers at one time. Also, the students will come as a grade to perform, greet their parent briefly and move back to class while the next grade performs. The times will be as follows:
- 9.15 am: Kindergarten to Year 2 parents can park and gather at the hall to catch up with fellow parents.
- 9.40 am: We will invite parents to sit and watch each grade from Kindergarten to Year 2 put on a short presentation. After the presentation we will ask that parents that do not have a child in the older grades to move out efficiently to make room in the carpark for the next group.
- 10.10 am: Parents with students in Years 3 – 6 are invited to come to the hall to catch up with fellow parents.
- 10.30 am: Parents will be invited to take a seat as each grade from Years 3 – 6 give a short presentation.
We are very aware that not all mothers will be able to attend so have designed the day, so all children are involved but are not disadvantaged if their parent is not able to attend.
