On Friday 16th August, SJF celebrated Science Week by taking part in a range of engaging activities that were all around the theme Species Survival: More than just Sustainability.
The students explored habitats around the school looking for evidence of the range of species that we are lucky to have at SJF in the living things hunt. Their flexibility and quick thinking were challenged with floods and volcanoes in their Minecraft habitats and technology skills put to the test with Sphero mini golf. They were also tasked with using their knowledge of animals and their habitats to complete a scavenger hunt and tested their teamwork using augmented reality to save their ecosystems.
The day ended with the Noah’s Ark shipwright finale competition where Brianna A and Olivia F’s boat held an astounding 1.4 kg!
It was a fantastic day and the students can’t wait till the next one!
